Lip Lift

During the procedure, the surgeon usually makes small incisions at the base of the nose or in the natural crease of the nostrils. A precise amount of skin is removed to lift the upper lip, and the incisions are closed with sutures. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia and can be completed in one to two hours.

What is it?

A lip lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at improving the appearance of the lips by shortening the distance between the upper lip and the base of the nose. It consists of removing a small amount of skin tissue from the area above the upper lip to expose more of the vermilion (pink part) of the lips, thus achieving a more voluminous and youthful appearance.

Benefits

  • Increases the visibility and volume of the upper lip.
  • Creates a more defined and balanced lip-nose relationship.
  • Enhances the cupid’s bow (the V-shaped curve of the upper lip).
  • Restores a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing lip contour.

Classification

Bullhorn lip lift: This technique involves making an incision in the shape of a bull horn, just below the base of the nose. It is usually used to enhance the upper lip and give more definition to the cupid’s bow.

Gull-wing lip lift: This technique involves an incision along the vermilion border of the upper lip. It is often used to treat thinning or sagging lips and provides a subtle lift to the appearance of the lip.
